as civil society organizations, third sector associations, movements working for a world of greater justice and solidarity, in view of the World Trade Organization General Council scheduled for 27 to 28 July in Geneva, we are concerned with the direction taken by the current trade negotiations in the WTO. Launched in Doha in 2001 as a "Development Round", these negotiations will prevent most of the world population to benefit, especially those living in the poorest countries. Therefore, adhering to the appeal recently launched by the 'Observatory Tradewatch .

we ask you to take the initiative at community level and a new approach in the WTO multilateral trading system. The Doha Round, has been affected in the Declaration of Hong Kong last December and the failure of the last mini-misteriale end of last June, should be replaced by new rules that favor policies promoting human rights and development centered on people and ecological sustainability.
